Lion of Zambia
When we were in Zambia, we were able to get close to the lions in the warmer parts of the day as it was too hot for the big kitties to want to get up. They frequently sat up to glaze at something of interest, but then the head would lie back down again.

Excellent portrait!  Very nice and appropriate use of sepia tone.

It is striking how starkly these creatures vary in their actual behavior from their fierce and predatory reputations (for 22 hours a day, anyway - I guess they do earn their reputation at least once a day!)

I agree about the treatment you chose here, it seems absolutely optimal. I also really like the "negative vignette" you seemingly have applied?? it's a very creative concept and it really works here. All in all a great wildlife portrait!

I love the sepia treatment here, seems to emphasize the 'lioness' feel of the image
