Autumn on the Middle Patuxent River
This is minutes from my house. A wonderful benefactor secured the construction of a nature center on land they donated adjacent to this stream. I took a stroll Saturday morning along the trails and came upon this scene with not a sole in sight. I captured full HD video using my D800 as well and will try to post that later today.

Sweet! I am breathing in that wonderful autumn air!  I have no idea of how you say the name of the river, but what a wonderful site to be close too.    I really like these images that hit on my other senses and this one did that...thanks!  Cannot wait to see the video......

Thanks! You can see out the vidoes (three taken from the same place, minutes apart) in the album "Videos of Autumn". The river name is pronounced "Pa-tux-ent" ( "tux" like "tuxedo" ). They are several hundred megs each, all being full 1920x1080p, the shortest being a full minute in length with stereo audio channels as captured by the camera. These are straight out of the D800 in Apple Quicktime (.MOV) format.

Nice comp and choice of scene. My only nit is that it needs to be pushed up brighter. I'll ck the video when I reload Quicktime. I removed it because it tries to take over as default player and seems to have continous pop-ups for one thing or another.

Bob - Thanks for the feedback on being a bit dark. I brightened up the darker areas with dodging and a boost in brightness to the image overall. Does it look better now?

Beautiful scene, as a Navy contractor I know the Pax River all too well! You picked out a beautiful section of it.

I can't ever trust my monitor with this site no matter what I do, but in case this is of any value, to me it ooks like a contrast boost is needed plus actually a slide toward blue from yellow overall. Though this could be entirely worthless information.

Thanks for the feedback Pat. I'll check the white balance and see if cooling it down helps neutralize the colors more.
