WC#301- Shallow Depth of Field
Just an example to show you don't need 2.8 glass to achieve shallow depth of field. This was shot at f6.7. Getting close to your subject will do the trick.

Good example, Bob - but I am having a hard time seeing which is the sharpest section - what did you hone in on?

So far I have been able to tolerate the arduous search ;-)

Focus point is on the eyes!

 Yes - as it should be of course. Much easier to spot on my larger home monitor. Nice work!
