Kerkouane is the best preserved example of a Carthagenian city. It is in a stunning location, right on one of the beaches of Cap Bon. Finds suggest that there was already an established Berber settlement in the 8th century BC.

In contrast to the Roman towns there were no communal baths, but each house had its own bath, some of which are still visible.
