Long Neck Girl from Northern Thailand
Upon a visit to northern Thailand, we visited the Karen tribe of which they are noted for the elongated neck. This is believed to be jewelry and not for any other significant tribal reasons. These collars around the neck can weigh as much as 18 lbs and lowers the collar bone, but it has been proven that upon permenant removal, woman can lead a normal life. It really does not lengthen the neck, but provides the appearance. It takes 1 hour to put on and 3 hours to take off.

Great work, Richard! Perfect focal isolation of the eyes and terrific choice of f-stop (3.5?) to allow a tapering blur. The primary drama of this shot is the jewelry and you have done a great job of imposing the broader human interest story through forcing the eyes onto the viewer via those exposure choices.

If this were mine I would soften the skin on the forehead and nose areas to make the focus even more starkly centered on just the eyes. But then again my attitude toward PP doesn't always score points here, so for TPN publication this just may be totally optimal as is. Really well done, thanks for sharing!
