Chair Caner
This fellow was walking down my lane with his caning goods over his shoulder. He squatted for several hours caning two chairs. Lovely to watch.

I have woven those cane chair bottoms myself. It is a labor of love. Very repetitive, you have to keep the cane wet (no problem with that in Sri Lanka I'm sure), and you have to keep those can strips tight. I used golf tees in the holes to hold the cane tight. Excellent portrait of a man and his craft.
