Screech Owl
This little guy was quite the ham, almost mugging for the camera. This is another of the captive birds at the Birds of Prey photo shoot at Tuckahoe State Park, Ridgely, MD. I corrected this photo for a red tint by using the Color Variations tool in Photoshop Elements 10. It's also a vertical crop from a horizontal shot that included the blurry back of a second screech owl on the left.

I love how you have filled the frame, and how the screech owl enters from the bottom right and stares straight at me. It is like the owl is playing peekaboo with me. It doesn't look as sharp as I would expect. Were you shooting handheld? I can't remember. I used a tripod for all of my images. I wanted to take maximum advantage of the opportunity we had. I plan to print some enlargements for my office.
