The Flatirons, Boulder CO
This was taken two days ago while on a business trip. The little building at the base of the range is NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research). It provides an excellent sense of scale. The Flatirons are part of the Front Range of mountains that butt up against the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains.

Nice shot Walter, well balanced. This looks a whole lot like the view from Stapleton during aerial approach - you were facing west in morning light, yes? Beautiful work.

In fact I was facing west in the morning light. This was taken Fromm pull-off on I-36 between Louisville and Boulder. Louisville is southeast of Boulder. I stayed there and drove into Boulder each morning while I was there Mon-Wed of this last week so I got to look at this view each morning. This day (Wednesday) it was just above freezing. I'll post another from Monday when it was only a few degrees above zero. In the Monday image the Flatirons are covered in frost so they look white.

Love the colors and the NCAR really adds dimension to the image. Sky is great and the details are well defined.  Excellent!
