Tibetan village in the Daixu Highlands
After reaching over 14,000 feet in elevation, we drove along a remote highway (501) and by several villages made of stone amoung the sparse trees. The water was fresh in the creek and cold, the air was dry and refreshing. We were lucky to have a good day and visited with a few locals. Little towns supported sparse hotels that were more noted for the truck drivers as opposed to tourist. As long as you held your breath, it was all good!
