Daixu Mountain Pass
This is one of those unknown places where you drive and marvel. We had stayed in a small Tibetan village and wanted to go to see some of the dramatic countryside. The driver had been here and it took us about 2 hours of driving on some of the worst roads I have experienced (my back still hurts!). The final destination was up this remote pass at about 15K to look across into this desolate range of mountains. We did not go down the otherside, but stayed on top (trying to breathe) and sat for a long time drinking in the landscape.
