CatCat Girl
Seeing what Roger did, I went back this week to review a few of my past trips to see if I missed images as I believe I am becoming more aware of what to look for. Although I doubt I willl match Roger's "attention" on this site (well deserved!), I did find this young girl in CatCat valley around the Sapa area of Northern Vietnam. I totally missed this previously and actually made me glad to see that I focused on her wonderful, childish eyes. I desaturated this with NIk Software and brought out some grain and roughness to portray the envirornment.

What a lovely image Richard! You've really caught the fun of being of child. And I think your processing helps with the story of how she fits in her environment. All I'd ask for improvement would be to clone out the stray hair across her face, but overall, a great shot.

Richard, I've been trying to respond to this for over a week. It's awesome and intimdating too - a typical portrait from you in its arresting perspicacity and technical excellence.

You are by far the best portrait artist on this site. I can't wait to see what you bring back from PNG and the sing.

Bon voyage my friend!

Beautiful composition, post editing and overall mood of the image!!
