Water Lily w/ Nikon D800
This is one of the first images out of my new Nikon D800. All I can say is WOW regarding this camera. The fine detail one can see in a full frame 36MP image is astounding.

Great shot, Walter - is this from Lilypons? I know you live near there.

I'm stoked to hear about the D800. As a dedicated Canon shooter I am so happy that the "Coke vs. Pepsi" battle has now seen such an impressive new gauntlet thrown down!

Thanks Patrick. I will be at the Celebrate Fairfax festival over the weekend and plan to use the D800 exclusively so I should have plenty more to say after the weekend.

This water lily was planted in a fountain outside the cafeteria at my office, not at lilypons. I do want to go to lilypons again. I have over 700 images from there, but one can never have enough. It is a terrific place. Wanna go?

You bet! I've actually never been there so I am very keen on the idea. Might make a good article for the site as well...let me know if sometime over this summer looks good.

Sounds like a plan. All of July and up through mid August will probably be the best time for me.

Anyone else interested? I can put a calendar entry on TPN once we select a date.
