I have never been to UAE nor even seen a serious non-commercial photo of Burj Khalifa until now. This is so impressive and a unique framing/composition. THanks you for this introduction!

Hi Patrick, thank you for your kind words! I was foretunate to capture this image in good light. I do however offer this image for sale on my website so it is somewhat commercial Wink

Hi Burj,

Great to see you posting to the site and this is an excellent night shot with the sky in what I think is prime-time for city skyline shots.  The colors are great and it is wonderful to see something from this region of the world as I have not been here yet...one reason I really like this site.  Did you at all try this in a portrait mode?   Did you have much foreground with water immediately in front of you?   The tower is fantastic and I perhaps would also (not instead of) like to see it in that manner too.   Hope you continue!

Hi Richard, thank you for your kind words! Yes I was fortunate enough to catch some good light. It was about 7:30pm, a great time for evening photography just before the sky lost its glow. Dubai is an interesting place, I've been here for six months now however still trying to find my place in this very foreign land. I did take a number of shots, vertical as well. My favorites can be seen at www.travelphotog.org/portfolios.html. It was hard to get to water level so I took a few of these by setting my camera on timer and lowering down it to water level, up-side-down on a tripod! Turned out well I think! Feel free to check out my other photographs on my site! Cheers, Glenn.
