Home in Bena Village
Sitting below a still active volcano, Mt. Inerie, is the village of Bena with its traditional pagan settings. On the island of Flores in Indonesia, the people live here quite happily and enjoy their gardens and way of life. Every late December, they actually hold a tremendous ceremony and still practice the pagan beliefs of sacrificing animals at alters and having a huge feast. I definitely want to go back someday for that.

Animal sacrifice? Count me in!

Not sure I am actually up for that but it's certainly intriguing - quite like mostly all of your photography Richard, to include this one!

From a structural standpoint, somehow this shot reminds me of Macchu Picchu.

Nice .. and great depth of field! Can see the hill in the background .. i suppose that's the volcano !! Smile
