Rob Sutherland
As a day job I am currently an engineer - working in the glamorous world of sewage! It wasn't always the way though, there was a dalliance with rock-stardom which went a little awry (I have only just started to pick up the guitar again in the last couple of weeks after a 10 year hiatus) . I have been an archaeologist and an IT Manager... and even a stuntman on a few films over the years.

Where next? Well the dream is to get to the stage with photography to make a career in that direction, but my passion is for landscapes and making enough out of that to pay the mortgage is a tall order! I am not sure I could face going down the wedding route to make the dream a reality.

I have travelled a little, not as much as I would like as yet though! Amazonia, the Carribean, California, a good chunk of Europe and Scandinavia, New Zealand and Australia have all been visited thus far. But there are plans for more, and return visits to some as well. New family allowing that is!

Other than photography, travel and music I also love mountain bikes and motorbikes. I love ancient sites (to visit and photograph), history, architecture, environmentalism... all sorts really. And I seem to be a perpetual student with 1 undergraduate BSc Honours degree and 2 postgraduate MSc degrees to my name thus far!

Great self portrait, Rob. Nice write-up too - I am surprised though that you only hinted at your new son! Hope all is well with your family.

I would love to see some of your photos from those travels you mentioned.

And I am right there with you about avoiding the wedding racket at all costs. Even if it means never making a penny with photography!

Liking the hat and the glowering look. Was this when you stunt doubled the baddie in a film?

Now that you live a bit closer to me, we could get together and do some photographing.

I think this was me having a bad day when life was being entirely too complicated Ruud!

But yes, have to meet up again soon.  It was some years ago that you were in Stirling!
