Twin Towers
I discovered an arboretum near (kind of) my home yesterday.. oh boy!! I'm in heaven! I thought you guys would enjoy this one.. this cactus had to be at least 20 feet tall.. I'll be going back during the week when they have later (better light) hours. The sun was a bit hot in the desert section yesterday!

Sarah,

Very nice perspective to get that shot.  20 feet looks more like 100, so great angle to gain that perspective.  Did you have to do a lot of post processing of this to get the cactus light enough with that bright background?  As with many of your shots..makes me appreciatively homesick!  Very nice and thanks for posting.

What I love about this is the occlusion of the sun, leaving the sky infused with a nebulous glow behind the stalks...which I agree with Richard, appear to be way more than 20 feet tall! Very nice, Sarah, thanks for sharing!

I really like the low perspective and wide angle lens. It really accentuates the tallness. You've done an excellent job holding on to the color in the cactus given the silhouette against the bright sun. The sun serves as a great backlight similar to the the background light one often sees in a studio portrait. Terrific!

This is super, Sarah! Love the colors, the clarity and of course, the perspective! Great eye you have!
