Dragon's Backbone, North of Guilin, China
I spent 11 days touring Guilin, China area and hiked the mountains north of Guilin called the Dragon's Backbone. This area is rich with terraced rice fields that in late September are brilliant in color.

I love the intense green in the rice paddy which is probable caused by the humidity in the air

and of cause the mist/clouds drifting through the Mt. tops.

It looks like a photographers paradise

I will accept this as proof, per your comment on my photo in this gallery, that you do love fog and layers!

This is really excellent, Richard - the construction of this image is so towering and yet meticulous. The bright green glow anchoring it offers so much allure beneath that wispy ethereal netherworld.

If anything I would consider a crop below the top peak to eliminate any sky at all and create a poignant dichotomy. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Great composition, Richard.
