Yellow Poplar
The sun shining through this yellow poplar (aka tulip tree) leaf really caught my eye as my wife and I strolled through Martinak State Park near Denton, MD last fall.

Wow, Roger, this image really jumps out at you. Is this leaf still attached to its tree? And what is that turquois BG? .

I live near DC, so Denton can't be too far away. It sure looks like a terrific autumn destination! You've created an excellent photograph here.

Yes, the leaf was still attached to the tree, but the branch was low enough that I could shoot the image while standing on the ground.  The background is the sky.  A lot of the tree's leaves had already fallen, leaving lots of open space for the sky to show through.

Hey Roger - thanks for your reply. Maybe about ten minutes after I posted that last comment, I came to realize that the turquoise was probably the sky. You are kind not to berate me mercilessly. I do love the photograph.

I love the colorsand detail of this image! Nice light choice! ;-)
