Castlerigg in December
Castlerigg Stone Circle, Keswick, Cumbria - I only seem to head up here in "challenging" conditions when no one else would bother... seems to work well for me though!

Image Description 5th December 2011, the first day of winter? Well, not really - but it is the first blast of wintery weather we have seen for this year! It was bitterly cold in the Northern Lakes today, on the way home after deciding to abort the days work I stopped off at Castlerigg to see what there was to photograph. Glad I braved the icy roads for this one!

Brrrr.   You are a hearty soul Rob as this looks quite chilly and bone-cold.   Again, your colors are fasinating and effective to dramatise the effect you are trying to acheive.   These are the best times like you said when no one else cares to be around!   Love the sheep in the image too and plays well witht the overall scheme.   Maybe brighten the front center one a little to bring him out??   Mystical...thanks and you had some great weather for this.

You should have seen the light that was coming through first thing Richard - it was a glorious pinky buff kind of colour in the clouds.  Really special!

Alas I didn't have time to take anything.
