to make there nests,This area has a colony of about 40 pairs

Leave it to Avi to make liars out of the scientists who named this species "bee eater" ;-)

Gorgeous bird that I've never seen before and incredibly sharp detail with excellent bokeh. Yet another winner!

I agree with Patrick. Exceptional sharpness and detail. I love that you have captured this specimen with a meal in its mouth. The colors really stand out against the creamy, monotone quarry wall. Great shot!

Come on Avi...I am dissappointed with two things!!  One..are you sure this is not the endangered and rare dragonfly-eater????    That thing is huge for that bird!   Second and most importantly...I was really hoping for the scientic name of the dragonfly too!  You are slacking now.....:-)

As usual...exceptional sharpness and great look at this.  I am tempted to post my bee-eater out too, but will save for a rainy day when you do not have much to offer!!   :-)  This is great and nothing to nitpick about, which is typical Avi..Thanks.

Its not for that bird its for the chicks in the nest Wink

Great catch Avi! The bird really stands out on the tan background. Very pretty bird.

Amazing color in the bird, and great sharpness and detail where it counts.
