Komodo Dragons, Komodo Island, Indonesia
I just returned from Komodo and Flores Islands in Indonesia and one primary reason for going were the Komodo Dragons. This turned out to be a much more challenging image (and set of images) I have ever attempted in a long time. Used 100-400mm lens in rain, carrying umbrellas while being among these magnificant monsters. Two very large males over 3m long and likely over 100KG each. To make matter worse and why hard to take, the one on the right then directly charged us. Having a guide was worth it. They used a forked stick to keep him at bay, but later he said he was quite nervous with this particular dragon. Well...still alive!
