How it works
Competitions are challenges run weekly. Each Sunday, a moderator will select a winner from the prior Sunday to Saturday's theme.
The goal of challenges is to push us out of our comfort zone. They are to get us to use different methods and concepts.
While any image may be entered in a challenge, images taken just for that challenge are encouraged. You may enter as many images in a challenge as you desire up to the limit of the site of one image per category per day.
We are always looking for new challenge themes. If you have ideas, send them in a note to the Editor.

2010 TPN Summer Photo Contest
Travel Photographers Network is proud to host the 2010 TPN Summer Photo Contest. Between May and September, we will be accepting entries in several categories. On the anniversary of the launch of our site in October, prizes will be awarded for the winners in each category.
We are proud to be partnering with some terrific sponsors for this contest including Tamron, Think Tank Photo, OP/TECH USA and others. TPN members have also contributed prizes they lovingly created including prints and a handmade leather camera bag. In addition, TPN will be giving away free memberships to the Travel Photographers Network.
Photo Categories
Entries for the 2010 TPN Summer Photo Contest may be submitted for each of these categories:
- Urban & Cityscapes
- Favorite Location
- Landscape
- People & Culture
- Travel & Outdoor
Each category will have a one Winner, one Runner-up, and two Honorable mentions. Prizes will be awarded for the photographer for each Winner and Runner-Up selected.
Eligibility and Contest Rules
How To Enter
You must log into the site and upload your entries into the Photography gallery. After uploading to the Photography gallery, you must go to the TPN Competition section of the website and click the "Enter Your Photo" link. There you will find a form with two drop-down menus. On the first, you will select the photo you are submitting. On the second, you will select the contest into which you are entering it. After making both selections, click the SUBMIT button.
Copyright
The photographer submitting photographs for consideration in the contest must be the copyright owner of the photographs submitted. All rights to the photographs will remain with the photographer.

Weekly Challenge Rules
- Images you post on the site may be entered into the competition
- You are allowed to post any number of images per competition
- A TC theme will run Sunday to Saturday for one-week. A schedule of upcoming themes will be posted
- Any special guidelines associated with a TC theme will be posted with the theme definition and must be adhered to
- Images submitted for each TC theme may be images you have on file or images taken specifically for the TC. New images photographed in response to the challenge are encouraged
- Commentary on equipment and technique used is strongly encouraged
- One image from each TC will be chosen as the winner and will receive a Moderator's Pick
- The Moderator's/Editor's Pick is final and will not be debated.
- Images will remain open for comment by members after the deadline of the competition
- Images posted after the last day of the challenge will not be considered for the Moderator's Pick
- Normal TPN posting guidelines apply except where otherwise stated
