Namibia: dry, hot and 5 people per square kilometer

A Photo Essay by Wilmar Dik - All rights reserved.

Namibia, a dry and hot country that is over 3 times as big as the United Kingdom, but with fewer than 2 million people. If you want to know how different a desert can look, then you have come to the right place! Here you can drive for hours without meeting any other people. When entering a town the only thing you’ll see is a petrol station and some people doing a lot of nothing. The petrol station is the centre of town and the place to get your water supplies ready for the next few hundred kilometers of hot tarmac (only for the first few kilometers out of town) and dirt roads (the rest…) . This is the place where Travel Photographer Wilmar shot this photo essay.
