Matriarch Elephant on Guard

As we approached a group of five elephants, this dominant female became aggressive while checking us out. Our Ranger, Steve, made an interesting and deep sound that demonstrated subservience, and the elephant calmed down. We then were accepted and watched as a herd of over 60 elephant emerged from the bush around us!
