Staff Profile - Tom Guffey

The journey began when Tom first acquired an old Canon FtbN, in the late 1960’s. He slowly developed an eye for “color” and a style that has been telling compelling stories ever since. He is passionate about photography. He has constantly pursued excellence in the creations of his images over the years. The subjects are ever changing, and the journey continues, with no end in sight.

His published work includes greeting cards, calendars, stock work, and images for various book publishers and fine art large format landscapes. His website is www.tomguffeyphotography.com

Tom is a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), International Association of Panoramic Photographers (IAPP), and the North American Nature Photographers Association (NANPA). His work can also be seen on the Internet and with a number of stock agencies in the US.

He shoots in a number of various formats, including: high-end digital, 6 x17 Panoramic, and 4 x 5 large format. Most of Tom's major work is in 617 panoramic formats and 4 x 5. Tom has multiple collections of large format and panoramic pieces in medical facilities, financial institutions, law offices, and sports/fitness facilities in the Pacific Northwest. More of his images are displayed at various local business offices, schools, and universities on the west coast.

Tom also writes travel articles for various magazines and websites. The selection of work and travel articles cover locations in the US and overseas. Recent published work includes articles and images in the following publications:

The TPN community is comprised of photographer’s of all skill and experience levels. Their goal is to help each other sharpen and improve their skills.

Tom has lived in the Pacific Northwest since 1978, with his wife Jackie, who is an inspiration to him all the time. Jackie and Tom can frequently be seen in various locations around the Northwest, “capturing” it for others to enjoy.
