Staff Profile - Jim White

Jim is the editor-in-chief of Travel Photographers Network. He is also an avid travel and nature photographer, currently living in England. He has pursued photography as a serious amateur for well over three decades, and has received recognition in local and international competitions in the US and the UK.

Jim has lived in London for the past 9 years with his wife Vicki Shillington who is an inspiration to him at all times. Vicki and Jim can frequently be seen (with camera) on mountain bikes enjoying some of Britain's more natural areas. Jim still considers himself a New Yorker despite the mellowing (loss?) of his original accent.

A number of Jim's scenic and nature images have been donated to hospitals in Connecticut and London, specifically to give patients in the Isolation Wards a comforting and meditative image to enjoy while going through difficult times.

After 20 years of shooting almost exclusively with slide film, Jim has now gone almost exclusively digital. The historical investment in Nikon lenses inspired the purchase of a D100 in November of 2003, and the traditional film Nikon kit is now gathering dust in the cupboard.
