Bob Miller
has been working as a professional photographer for 25 years. He began
his photography career after starting as a graphic designer. “I felt I
needed different experiences each day, not to be stuck in the same office,
same desk, same people, 9-5".
In his first full time position with a traveling family portrait company, he covered more than 30 US States, shooting up to 100 families daily. Since then Bob has owned 2 portrait studios, a school picture franchise servicing over 75 schools, and currently works with a Tempe, Arizona studio that handles 5000 contract high school seniors yearly.
Bob looks at himself primarily as a portrait photographer, but his interests don’t stop outside the studio. “ I love to travel and document the culture and environment of others.” Where are his favorite locations? “I spent two years in Alaska, shooting from Ketchikan in the south, to Point Barrow, the northern-most tip of North America. It was great. But I also spent two years in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. I think my favorite might just be where I am at the time.”
Bob traveled back to Lagos, Nigeria in October 2005 to marry his wife Ese, whom he had met there in 2001 while documenting the Orisha World Congress in Ile-Ife.
Bob captures the world with his Nikon D200 and Nikkor lenses.
